Growing Kids God's Way

Testimonial from Leslie Welch

Hello my name is Leslie Welch.  My son Jesse attended ALCS beginning in the fall of 2002, in Miss Carol’s preschool class, and graduated from 8th grade in 2012. Jesse is currently in his sophomore year at Lexington Christian Academy.  LCA is an academically challenging school and Jesse has shared with me that ALCS has prepared him to be successful.  Academics are a priority at ALCS, the teachers are continually taking educational development courses to stay abreast of the changing educational needs.

Jesse has fond memories of Miss Carol, Miss Natalie, Mrs. Parker, and Mrs. Kent.  They had a perfect balance of firmness and love; they all instilled a love for God and learning in him as well as the other teachers Jesse has had throughout his years at the school. We are thankful for the Godly leadership covering ALCS, starting with Mr. and Mrs. Grimley, Mrs. Hobart, and Mr. Vendt.  ALCS shines as a beacon in the community, proudly proclaiming their foundation in Jesus Christ, encouraging the children to be individuals of integrity.

My husband Larry and I cannot say enough about ALCS, we have been incredibly blessed by the school. The 8th Grade field trip to Washington D.C. will forever be one of Jesse’s fondest memories; he was amazed at the depth of knowledge that his history teacher, Mr. Hanson, had on the trip.  Jesse had a blast at Mr. Bishop’s pizza and movie party.  He loved Mrs. Cummings experiments, Ms. Dunbar’s gym classes, and Mrs. Padilla’s gentle manner and great sense of humor!

It is true that it was a financial struggle to send our kids to Christian schools, but when all is said and done I would choose to do it again. It was absolutely worth it. The dividends far outweigh the costs. I have raised four children, three girls ages 30, 27, 24 and Jesse age 15. If you are considering Abundant Life Christian School as a possible choice for your child, I have confidence that you will not be disappointed.

Thank you,
Leslie Welch
