Lunch policy and volunteer request

Our lunch program will start the week of October 2. Our lunch program is a volunteer run program. Therefore we need your help. If you are interested in serving lunch to the students please contact Ms. Amanda Marshall at amarshall@alcsnet.org. A typical day for an ALCS lunch volunteer is; arrive at 11:35 and begin set up. Set up includes: putting two (3) service tables out and cleaning them; gather items needed to serve for the day (i.e. plates, napkins, utensils, condiments, fruit, drinks, etc.) Serve the elementary students at 12:05 and middle school students at 12:38. Then clean up begins. Clean up includes but not limited to: putting away supplies, bringing leftovers to school kitchen, cleaning tables, restocking drinks, cleaning up any food spilled on floor in the serving area. We welcome you to serve. Please contact Ms. Amanda Marshall at amarshall@alcsnet.org if you are willing to volunteer.

As we gear up to start our program, we would like to remind you of our lunch program policies:

  • The due date for the order form is firm. No late forms will be processed.
  • All hot lunch forms must be given to your child’s teacher. Forms left at the front desk or in the lunch mailbox will not be processed.
  • Families with multiple children, please return a separate order form for each child. If combining payments for multiple children please send all order forms and payment with the oldest child.
  • For accounting purposes payment by check is preferred.
  • Please do not staple payment to form, paperclip please.
  • If your child is out sick there is no credit given as meals have already been ordered.
  • If school is canceled due to inclement weather you may take a credit towards a future hot lunch order. Please contact me with your credit request and please make note on your next order form. Credits must be taken on the next menu.
  • If your child has a field trip on a given day and he/she will be away during lunchtime please do not order him/her lunch. A credit cannot be given as the meals have already been ordered. If a meal has been ordered the meal will be wrapped to go home. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing ahead of time to note on the menu when a field trip will take place.
  • We are not able to serve lunch to a student that has forgotten their own lunch.
  • A copy of your processed menu will be sent home prior to the menu start day.
  • October’s menu will cover the period of Monday, 10/2 thru Friday, 11/3. Please note that the menus cover complete weeks, M-F. Therefore, menus may continue into the following month for a few days. The months that this will occur are October, November, January, April and May.
  • The program will end Friday, June 1, 2018. The last week of school there is no lunch program offered.
