Growing Kids God's Way

ALCS Community Virtual Quilt

Hello Abundant Life Community,

This idea was proposed by one of our amazing parents as a way to stay connected and “stitch ourselves together” during this time of school closure and social distancing.  It is awesome!  Here’s the idea:

ALCS Community Virtual Quilt

God says in Ecclesiastes 3:7 that there is “a time to tear away and a time to sew together”. Let’s virtually stitch ourselves together in this time of socially distancing. Let’s show our community that we are not only conquerors, but victorious in His Name. We can do this in three easy steps:

  1. Create your Square.
  2. Scan or Take a Pic & Send your square to kjones@alcsnet.org.
  3. Bring original on first day school reopens.

Here’s how to do it:
Supplies: Paper, cardboard, card stock, construction paper or any other kind of non-flimsy paper. Scissors, Glue, paint, pencils, crayons, markers. Whatever floats your boat.
Directions: Cut out a 5”x5” square. Pray over your square that it may be used for hope and to glorify His Name. Create your square answering this question:

What blessings has God given me since I’ve been home from school?

Scans/Pics Due: Email kjones@alcsnet.org

Usage: Your square will appear online and in a physical display. One per child please. Teachers and staff, please feel free to participate!

We look forward to being stitched together and sharing His blessings with each other.  While this is a time of difficulty, it is also a time of opportunity.  Let’s look for the Lord’s blessings in these circumstances and encourage each other.

Blessings,
Dr. Jones
